Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow SAM Pro Implementation Specialist to lead the greenfield deployment of the Software Asset Management Professional module. The role involves designing and implementing SAM processes, integrating with CMDB and procurement systems, and ensuring compliance with software licensing and optimization best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement ServiceNow SAM Pro module for end-to-end software asset lifecycle management.
- Define SAM strategy, governance, and operating model aligned with CSDM and CMDB standards.
- Configure license models, entitlements, reclamation workflows, and compliance rules.
- Integrate SAM Pro with CMDB, Discovery, and third-party tools (procurement systems, inventory management, ERP).
- Implement normalization, reconciliation, and compliance reporting for software assets.
- Develop dashboards and reports for license utilization, compliance, and cost optimization.
- Automate software reclamation and approval workflows using Flow Designer and IntegrationHub.
- Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements for software assets.
- Conduct training and knowledge transfer for stakeholders and administrators.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience in ServiceNow SAM Pro implementation.
- Expertise in software license management, compliance, and optimization.
- Familiarity with Discovery and Inventory Management processes.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow configuration (forms, workflows, business rules, UI policies).
- Experience with integration using REST/SOAP APIs and third-party asset tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – SAM (preferred).
Nice-to-Have
- Knowledge of HAM (Hardware Asset Management) and its integration with SAM.
- Experience in financial tracking and cost optimization for software assets.
- Exposure to automation using Flow Designer and IntegrationHub.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
- ServiceNow CSA (Certified System Administrator) – required/preferred.
CIS – SAM – preferred

Should have understanding of the software development lifecycle
Experience of working in a multi-site environment
Extensive experience with SCM tools and with build automation software
